Leo Aldecocea is a cofounder and CTO of Elfen Software.
Before founding Elfen, Leo was responsible for global application support for American Express. Prior to this role, he served as chief architect and led all engineering workstreams to enable American Express to build state-of-the-art and upgrade existing data centers and moving all production and disaster recovery systems across the United States without compromising the availability of over 2500 applications. Having rejoined American Express in 2006, Leo led engineering for CTO applications and Level3 engineering and service restoration for one of the largest IBM zOS mainframe environments in existence and realizing the highest uptime performance in its history.
From 2001 through 2003, Leo was global SVP of engineering at Patagon.com, at the time the largest startup in Latin America which was bought by Banco Santander. Following the buyout, in 2003 Leo joined Telefonica USA as its CIO. Prior to 2001, Leo served in leadership roles that enabled American Express to release over 300 online business applications over a two-year period, and then served as the engineering and 24/7 command center leader for all brokerage systems at Ameriprise (formerly AE Financial Advisors), achieving 100% uptime availability for its online trading systems.
Leo also spent 8 years in various electrical engineering roles at FPL in Miami, Florida.
Leo earned a B.S. in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the University of Florida and a M.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Miami. He is a member of Tau Beta Pi, the national engineering honor society.
